Experience

From 2006 to the present, I have worked in schools and in private practice to help children and their parents and adults move through life transitions, life-threatening illness, divorce, grief, relationship issues, conflict, and emotional, work, social and academic challenges.

From 2006 to 2020 in California, I worked in San Francisco Bay Area schools as a counselor and developed expertise supporting children and adolescents. In this role, I provided parent consultation and worked closely with the resource and special education teams and classroom teachers.

As a learning resource team member, I also gained significant expertise helping children and their parents with learning differences such as dyslexia and ADHD that sometimes co-presented with mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.

From 2010 to 2021, as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, I also maintained a psychotherapy practice in San Mateo County and worked with a diverse group of individual adults, adolescents, children, parents, and families. When working with young people, I always invited parents to be active collaborators in the treatment of their children.

Additionally, from 2013 to 2018, I taught Managing Your Anxiety and Understanding Your Depression to adults at Kaiser Permanente medical system, in Redwood City, California.

In June 2021, I moved to Germany to work as a Secondary School Counselor in Erlenbach, Baden-Württemberg, and have recently also started a private counseling practice in Stuttgart to provide in-person psychological consultation to school-aged children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Through all these experiences, it consistently brings me great joy to help ease the demands of family life so individuals can enjoy each other within a healthy family system by gaining coping skills, confidence, and satisfying relationships.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.  To earn a license in the state of California, a therapist must complete graduate school, work 3000 supervised clinical hours, and pass two state licensing exams.  I have completed the licensing process and am working in the community to help many families.
